is there a device to make usb headset calls louder?

To make your USB headset's call volume louder, there are two main methods: software adjustment and hardware enhancement.

Method 1: Software Adjustment
Step 1: Check Basic Volume

  • System Volume: Click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your computer and ensure the main volume slider is turned up (recommended to be above 80%).
  • Software Volume: Open the communication software you are using (such as Zoom, Teams, etc.), find the "Audio" or "Microphone" option in the software settings, and turn the built-in microphone volume slider to maximum.

Step 2: Windows System Settings

Path: Start --> Settings --> System --> Sound → Sound Control Panel → Recording tab → Select your USB headset → Properties

1. "Levels" tab: You will see two main sliders:

  • Microphone Volume: Turn it up to the maximum (usually 100).
  • Microphone Boost: This is the key to increasing the volume! Try gradually increasing this value (for example, starting from +10.0 dB). If, after increasing it, the other party can hear your voice but there is also a "hissing" electrical noise or background noise, please lower this value appropriately to find the best balance between volume and clarity.

2. "Advanced" tab:

  • Check the "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" option, which can sometimes prevent volume conflicts.

Method 2: Hardware Enhancement
If the volume is still insufficient after software adjustment, or if there is noise, it means the microphone's pickup capability has reached its limit. At this point, hardware equipment is needed to amplify and optimize the signal.
1. External Sound Card:

  • It can be understood as a "mini power bank" specifically for audio. Simply unplug your USB headset from your computer, plug it into the external sound card, and then connect the external sound card to your computer.
  • The core function of the external sound card is to amplify your voice signal "cleanly," effectively filtering out background noise and making your voice sound fuller and more prominent during calls.

 2. Professional mixing console or microphone preamplifier:
Suitable for the most demanding scenarios (such as professional podcasting and recording). They offer the most precise control over gain, equalization, etc., but the setup is more complex and the investment is higher.
