USB-C Port
- Physical Characteristics: An oval-shaped connector that is perfectly symmetrical top-to-bottom; it is non-directional, allowing it to be inserted in either orientation (right-side up or upside down).
- Current Status: It is currently the absolute mainstream interface for devices such as Android smartphones, tablets, Windows laptops, Apple MacBooks, newer iPad models, and the Nintendo Switch gaming console.
So, are USB-C charging cables designed for Apple devices interchangeable with those designed for Android devices?
Answer: Partially.
Question 1: When charging devices such as smartphones, electric shavers, headphones, and electric toothbrushes-even though they all utilize USB-C charging cables-why are these cables not universally interchangeable?
Reason: Different products require different charging power levels, and the type and number of pins located inside the connector interface vary across devices.

Question 2: Why are USB-C cables designed for use between different smartphones also not universally interchangeable?
Reason: To achieve high-wattage fast charging, smartphone manufacturers today often implement proprietary protocols. For instance, Some manufacturers utilize fast-charging protocols such as SCP/FCP... Others employ VOOC/Super VOOC protocols... Still others use the Flash Charge protocol. Although Company A does not focus on high-speed fast charging, it still possesses a unique charging management logic; consequently, using a non-compatible cable may fail to activate fast charging-or in some cases, the device may charge only at a low power output or fail to charge altogether.
