Simple Solutions for Echo Issues with Call Center Headsets

--> Quick Self-Checklist (less than 5 minutes)
1. Check the microphone position.

  • Make sure the microphone boom is 2-3 fingertips (approximately 3-5cm) away from the corner of your mouth.
  • Do not point the microphone directly at the headphone speaker.

2. Lower the headphone volume.

  • Set the call volume to below 60%. Excessive volume can cause sound rebound.

3. Disable microphone monitoring, ambient sound effects, and other features.

  • Windows: Right-click the volume icon → Sound Settings → Input Devices → Device Properties → Disable "Monitor this device" and "Sound Enhancements" (such as echo cancellation and ambient noise reduction).
  • Mac: System Preferences → Sound → Input → Uncheck "Input Volume Monitoring"
